Fishing has been excellent for the beginning of winter. With mild temps and a little snow, the fish have been happy. This time of year your fly box should include scuds sizes 18-12 in orange, grey and yellow. Small pheasant tails size 18-20 have also been productive along with zebra midges 20-16. Within the city limits of Lanesboro as well as surrounding state parks fishing is open for year round for catch and release of Rainbow and Brown Trout. Beginning January 1st all of Southeast Minnesota will be open for catch and release season.
