Spring Fly Fishing in Southeast Minnesota

Spring Fly Fishing in Southeast Minnesota

Fly Fishing Root River Rod Co Lanesboro, Minnesota

After a beautiful 60 degree day on Saturday, Lanesboro received about 6 inches of fresh snow yesterday. River conditions are still good. We are seeing blue wing olive hatches and tiny winter stoneflies. Black leech patterns are also working well. Good flies to use would be size 16 to 18 prince nymph and pheasant tail nymph.

Friendly reminder it is time to renew your Minnesota Fishing License and Trout Stamp. Here at Root River Rod Co. in Lanesboro, we have new spring inventory coming in everyday from Simms, Douglas Fly Rods, Smith, Buff, and more. We are now open 7 days a week 9 to 5. Stop in soon to check out the largest selection of flies in Southern Minnesota.

We are now booking for guided trips, both wade and drift boat for Spring and Summer. Check out website or give us a call to set up your fly fishing guided trip.
